MISSION
The importance of Environmental Science and its need as a subject cannot be disputed. The degradation of our Environment is linked to continuing problems of pollution, loss of forests, solid waste disposal, and issues related to ecological security i.e., maintenance of ecological balance. The increasing level of global warming, Ozone layer depletion, and loss of biodiversity have made everyone aware of growing Environmental concerns. The United Nations Conference on Human Environment (UNCHE) or Stockholm Conference, 1972, followed by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) at Rio De Janerio Brazil or Earth Summit 1992 and World Summit on Sustainable Development at Johannesburg South Africa in 2002 have drawn the attention of people around the globe to the condition of our Environment. It is this mission of Environmental intellectuals that we have to take forward by imparting and transferring knowledge and skills to students related to the management of the Environment at international, national, local, and individual levels.
