Report on Participation of Government Degree College Uttersoo @ IUST Open Day

On November 7, 2024, Government Degree College Uttersoo deputed a group of three faculty members along with six students on an invitation from the Dean of Academic Affairs actively participated in the much—anticipated Open Day organized by the Islamic University of Science and Technology [IUST]. The event saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members of the college.

Event Highlights:
Guided Tour: One of the main attractions of the open day was the guided tour coordinated by Dr. Mehak M., Assistant Professor of Economics at IUST. The tour included visits to several cutting-edge facilities:
® Food Technology Department: Participants explored the latest advancements and research in food technology.
® High-Performance Computing [HPC] Lab: Students and faculty members were introduced to advanced computing technologies and their applications.
® Robotics Lab: A fascinating demonstration of innovative robotics projects and research.
Additional Activities: The participants also had the opportunity to visit various other departments and centres within IUST, gaining a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic and research infrastructure.

® Cultural Fest: An engaging platform for students to experience the cultural diversity and communal harmony in the valley of Kashmir showcased in the drama organised by the university;
® Food Fest: A delightful exploration of culinary treats from various cultures.
Exhibitions: The event featured various exhibitions that showcased new technologies, models, art, and experiments. These exhibitions provided students with an interactive and immersive learning experience.
