The college is affiliated with University of Kashmir, Srinagar J&K. The courses offered by the college come under the Choice Based Credit System started by the university from 2017. The Choice Based Credit System offers a unique interdisciplinary platform to enhance the teaching and learning process for both the students as well as teachers. B.A/B.Sc Programme (General):

• Core Courses: This is also called as Discipline Specific Course (DSC). There will be two (2) core subjects from 1^st to 4^th semester. In addition there will be one subject of MIL (Urdu/Kashmiri) to be taught in 1^st & 2^nd semesters while as General English will be taught in 3^rd & 4^th semesters. In case of B.Sc Programme there will be three (3) Core Subjects from 1^st to 4^th semesters while as General English will be taught from 3^rd to 6^th Semester.
• Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC’s): It is of two kinds:

• Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) comprising of i) Environmental Studies &

ii) Communicative English. These AECC’s will be taught in 1^st & 2^nd semesters for both B.A & B.Sc Programmes.

• Skill Enhancement Course (SEC): It will be taught from 3^rd to 6^th Semesters for both B.A & B.Sc Programmes.

• Elective Courses: There will be two (2) Discipline Specific Elective Courses (DSE) to be taught in 5^th & 6^th semesters. In addition there will be two (2) Generic Elective Courses (GE) to be taught in 5^th & 6^th semesters. While as in case of B.Sc Programme there will be three (3) Discipline Specific Elective Courses (DSE’s) to be taught in 5^th & 6^th Semesters.
