Political Science as a discipline cannot be best understood in isolation from other organs of knowledge but in integration with Philosophy, History, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Cybernetics so on and so forth. The discipline studies the relationship between the state and individual organs and forms of government, elections, rights, duties, justice, freedom, law, war, peace, power, authority, interstate relations and so on. It not only addresses the challenges faced by individual states but also common threats felt by the world community as a whole. In contemporary world the subject has become more and more relevant to address the challenges faced by the world community. It addresses the core issues of employment in the field of education, international relations like diplomacy, governance, psephology, civil services, etc. The department likes to welcome all the new comers who wish to choose political science as one of their core subjects to cherish their future in this field.
